Easter season (3) including Ascension

Come, let us worship him. Alleluia! WE COME TO GOD IN PRAYER God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms. Come, let us worship him. Alleluia! Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

We praise you, Christ, our ascended King. WE PRAY PSALM 47 Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. For the Lord Most High is awesome, the great King over all the earth. He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet. We praise you, Christ, our ascended King.

We praise you, Christ, our ascended King. God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets. Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise. We praise you, Christ, our ascended King.

We praise you, Christ, our ascended King. God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne. The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the God of Abraham, for the kings of the earth belong to God; he is highly exalted. We praise you, Christ, our ascended King.

WE CONFESS OUR FAITH

(Apostles’ Creed, scriptural song, or hymn/song)

WE PRAY FOR OURSELVES AND THE WORLD Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy.

Lord Jesus, hear our prayer. Jesus, as you rose from death and ascended to heaven; as all power in heaven and on earth is given to you; as you have opened the kingdom of heaven to all believers; as you are present with your body and blood in the sacrament: Lord Jesus, hear our prayer.

Lord Jesus, hear our prayer. By your glorious resurrection and ascension; by your all-powerful intercession; by your promise to be with us always; by your triumphant majesty and power: Lord Jesus, hear our prayer.

Lord Jesus, hear our prayer. That we look to things above, not to things on earth; that keeping your commandments we remain in your love; that through the Comforter you would stay with us; that in you we would have peace: Lord Jesus, hear our prayer.

(Other prayers may follow)

Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ, that you overcame death and now live and rule forever. Keep your church in the unity that the Spirit gives, and bring all creation to submit to you as Lord. Amen.

WE PRAY THE LORD’S PRAYER

GOD BLESSES US May Christ our exalted king pour on us his abundant gifts and bring us to reign with him in glory. And the blessing of almighty God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, be with us always. Amen.
