Design project: planter by: Nick Z. & Julia
About our planter It is made up of four connected cylindrical pots The exterior is made out of synthetic wood, so it can last throughout all seasons The plants being used are perennials, requiring less maintenance, as they regrow themselves each year
requirements Holds at least one medium sized tree or several smaller plants Has sufficient drainage that allows water to exit the planter No sharp edges Single element

Materials: Synthetic wood Soil Two small trees Two perennials Inner basket
Interior (drainage system)
Plant baskets with drains Cutouts that drained water exits from
How the drainage system woks The planter has a double layer, the inside layer is what involves the drainage system. The inside layer holds the soil and the plant. The bottom of this layer is colander-like, as it has many small holes. As rain falls into the planter, some will be absorbed and the excess will fall through the bottom of the inside layer. When the excess water falls through it will pool between the layers, and exit the planter through the holes in the exterior layer.
Why our planter is right for halton Our planter is small and does not take up lots of room It has a sleek, modern design It provides advertising space Durable through all four Canadian seasons It is low maintenance and easy to take care of
