So much to say in so few words… Micro-Fiction So much to say in so few words…

Writing is classified as micro-fiction if it tells a story in 100 words or fewer. A new movement in micro-fiction is the 6 Word Memoir…people are asked to tell a whole story or sum up their life in only 6 words. What is Micro-fiction?

As each piece of micro-fiction is shown, read it and then move around the room to find ONE person to talk to about the writing. Discuss what it’s about, what is the bigger story that it is hinting about, any questions you have, etc. YOU MUST SPEAK TO A DIFFERENT PERSON EACH TIME! Practice being FRIENDLY. Introduce yourself, ask how they are, etc. YOUR JOB:

Your Next Job: On your sticky notes, write 3 Six Word Stories/Memoirs. You don’t have to put your name on them. They can be about topics of your choice or about your life. When done, stick them to the whiteboard and take your seat to wait for others to finish. Your Next Job:

Go to the board, read the stories, and choose one that stands out to you. Copy it onto your paper At your desk, expand this to a piece of micro-fiction that is less than 100 words. (anywhere from 25-100) Be ready to share this if we have time. Now….
