We are a Title I School What does this mean?
We are Title I because… Our school has a high number of students who are eligible for Free and Reduced Price Lunch. We receive additional federal money to help increase student achievement in our school. School wide/School Improvement Plans (SIP) were written to clearly define how the money will be spent. You are welcome to attend a PTO meeting or come to the office to see the SIP.
We are Title I because… All educational funds in our schools, including Title I, support a standards based education. --1% of the schools Title I budget will be spent on parent involvement. You have the right to have input as to how this money is spent. You can learn more by contacting your PTO or PAC parent representative or attending those meetings.
What is AYP? Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) is a federal performance measure, which is based on the percent of students scoring Proficient or Advanced on the MAP. It looks at overall performance of a school And it looks at the performance of SPED, F/R Lunch and different ethnic groups.
