The Sabbath is meant to meet with God. Vs The Sabbath is meant to meet with God. Vs. 1-5 God had specific purposes for the Sabbath. Gen 2:2-3; Exodus 16:23-26; 20:8-11 That purpose got lost in the wrong stuff. Vs. 3-4; 1 Samuel 21:1-6

The Sabbath is all about relationships. Vs The Sabbath is all about relationships. Vs. 6-11 The Sabbath is for people, not laws. God meant the Sabbath for these two purposes.

How do we observe the Sabbath today How do we observe the Sabbath today? We apply both purposes in a new way. Next week: 6:12-26 What blesses and what doesn’t
