Project Management Background NECS Consultancy was created in 2015 and consisted of 7 staff members all based in the North East of England, as a result of this, project management was taught face-to-face and assignments could be tracked with ease. In 2018, NECS Consultancy now has over XX staff members in XXX locations across the country. It became quickly apparent that due to the large number of assignments and individuals on projects that a standardised approach needed to be taken and the Project Management Community of Practice was developed. The Project Management CoP have now been working together since 2018 refining the NECS project management approach, in line with best practice, ensuring consistency across all projects and that project management principles and practice are embedded into all assignments and shared with clients. Our Aim Collaboration, Engagement and Methodology Collaboration and engagement of NECS Consultancy staff to understand best practice and current project management templates Our methodology is built on recognised tools such as PRINCE2, MSP and Agile Project Management Our community of practice brings together people with experience, knowledge and current delivery expertise in Project Management and Delivery (PMD). Our PMD offer is be market leading and provide real value to meet our customers unique needs. We will collaborate, share knowledge, tools and techniques to develop the capability, capacity and culture of the project, programme and portfolio agenda. To be market leading and best in class so that the client receives ??? Project management support.. To have the ability to quickly understand the ‘ask’ of the customer, to respond with a suite of suitable documentation underpinned by robust processes that have been ‘assured’ and approved by the CoP, all delivered by agile PMD colleagues. How are we positioning ourselves in this space? We will ensure our CoP blends leading edge industry practice with rich and pragmatic public sector and healthcare experience to deliver customer objectives. Our mission is to further develop NECS Consultancy PMD offer to generate organic and new business in current and new markets.

Project Management Approach? Our approach to ensuring effective service delivery underpinned by robust Programme and Project Management is built on nationally recognised methodologies and a phased approach: Engagement Phase: Engage with Customer and Key Stakeholders to agree and define Project Scope, Objectives and key Deliverables. Planning Phase: Establish the Scope of the Project and define the course of action required to meet the objectives and deliver the project. Delivery Phase: Complete the work as defined in the Project plan. Track, review and Regulate the Progress and Performance of the Project. Identify corrective actions if required. Closure Phase: Finalise all activities and actions to formally close the project . Our high level plan and programme phases (Right) provides an outline of our approach. For each programme of work we review the requirement with the customer and revise the plan to ensure this is tailored to their needs and the needs of the overall programme. Next Steps NECS have developed a suite of project reporting tools and templates that are easily accessible for all team members and can be tailored to meet the needs of the customer. Next steps will include producing guidance documents for each phase and document. We also plan to regularly audit programmes/projects to ensure consistency across all programmes of consultancies work.
