What is an ACTION VERB? A verb is one of the most important parts of the sentence. It tells the subjects actions, events, or state of being. It is always found in the predicate of a sentence. A verb that shows action and tells what the subject does is called an action verb.

What is a LINKING VERB? A linking verb links, or joins, the subject of a sentence with a word or words in the predicate. It helps us tell what the subject is or is like.
