Monday October 22nd - 9th grade - WOW: imply Learning Targets: - write these down in your study book - 5 minutes I can cite strong and thorough evidence. I can determine a theme/central idea and analyze how it is developed. I can write an objective summary about the text. Activating Strategy: (Chromebooks): Describe your experience during the hurricane. How did you feel, what were you thinking, what happened, etc.? - 5 sentence answer, 2 sentence response to at least one person. Vocabulary: (define and find one example): flashback, foreshadow, objective summary, rhetoric, plot, and perspective. ISR (independent sustained reading): students will read from Newsela on the 9th grade reading level. The selections will be based on standard 1.
