ACTION RESPONSIBLE TIMELINE COMMENTS SCIETT Florida Center for Inclusive Communities Action Plan: BREVARD Year Four Increase the number of individuals who are transitioning from high school into community employment, provide information, training, and resources needed to support the expectation of employment first, and strengthen local level capacity to transition individuals into community employment settings. ACTION RESPONSIBLE TIMELINE COMMENTS Provide training and technical assistance for people with disabilities, teachers, and other stakeholders to market the message and shared belief of Brevard County ICB Ongoing Last year, all agencies/ schools were trained. Are You Ready to Work curriculum was provided. Not sure if it resulted in employment outcomes. Utilize on the job training, job clubs, and mentoring to facilitate the achievement of job goals by people with disabilities. LEAP VR Track activities and collect satisfaction feedback from participants. Utilize discovery strategy with job seekers Easter Seals – need training BAC Bridges New VR counselors ESE teachers Project Search By April 2010 SCIETT will provide 2- one day intensive trainings on the Discovery process in Brevard April 6th & 7th from 8am -4pm Training rooms 5 & 6 at the school board Collate employment outcomes/ data in a timely manner (FETPIP data is 2 years behind). Lynda Judy By June 2010 Lynda and Judy will determine what data is needed and send out requests for data. ABC (APD), RIMS (VR), FETPIP (DOE) , IEP data (if possible) Establish a DisabilityBrevard.org website Maryjane By February 2010 ICB funding? (Kathy)

ACTION RESPONSIBLE TIMELINE COMMENTS Identify what training is needed by employers, providers, and self-advocates ICB task forces BAC contract w/ school board (Jennifer Secor and Robert Grambolini) PACE By March 2010 Standing Up for Me for Adults (DOE) – continue to enhance and use for self-determination training Develop relationships with employers in the community ICB partners Bridges Ongoing Create a master list of current, large (most used) SE vendors in Brevard County Kathy Della Develop a process for evaluating vendor success in job placement – look into an accountability system DOE – community liaison follows up with placements VR – Lynda, Mike, Phil APD – Art Barndt What kinds of jobs are being secured? Increase awareness of SE services in the area through media outlets (website, radio, TV) Marketing and employment task force of ICB National and local BLN (link with what they are doing) After development of master list of service providers and the website Employers who hire individuals with disabilities can promote/ comment on experiences Let individuals know where/ how to find services * Highlighted action steps are prioritized. Others are aspirations of the team based on capacity to complete (staffing, time, funds, etc.)
