Science Lab Safety Always follow these safety precautions when working in laboratory areas. Come prepared for the lab with appropriate pre-lab work completed Respect and use all lab equipment with caution. Do not touch anything unless instructed to do so. When handling equipment, use as directed. Absolutely no food, drink, or gum. No horseplay will be tolerated and can result in dismissal from lab with zero or partial credit. Never leave lab station unattended. Report any equipment malfunction or material damage to instructor. Restrain loose hair, jewelry, and clothing. Wear protective gear appropriate for lab being performed (gloves, goggles, apron, closed toe shoes, etc.)
