Members ‘Call to action’! Profile Raising Champions Roger Huxley Me, my clinic and the CLLSA - Olga Janssen 20 Mins 55 mins Join us today and together we will fight CLL 1

Join us today and together we will fight CLL CHAMPIONS Champions!?! Our Association is a small organisation compared to our big brothers and sister Bloodwise and LeukaemiaCare. We need your help to provide a more comprehensive support network. Shortage of specific services for people living with CLL Both CLL and CLLSA need a higher profile This is what we mean by Champions Join us today and together we will fight CLL 2

Champions: proposed roles 1: CLLSA Profile Raising Champions 2: Event and Regional Forum Support Champions 3: Lobbying and Media Support Champions 4: Help line Champions 5: Fund Raising Champions 6: Digital Champions 6 roles were identified We are today focussing on Profile-raising Champions Join us today and together we will fight CLL 3

Champions: a personal profile Who can be a CHAMPION and take on any of these roles? Any member who feels able to, with limited support, can become involved Anyone - Initially you will need :- be confident with people good communication skills, be well organised, self-motivated, and reliable. In order not to overstretch the work of trustees we have decided to promote the role of Profile-Raising Champions first. Join us today and together we will fight CLL 4

Join us today and together we will fight CLL Champions: First Step Profile-raising Champions Promoting CLLSA at your clinic or GP surgery. Supplying leaflets for new or existing patients. Encouraging local CLL patients to join the CLLSA. You can collect some leaflets from myself or Sarah. We have prepared a brief guide to the role of Champion Join us today and together we will fight CLL 5

How to develop these roles in the future Champions: development How to develop these roles in the future Conferences - a great place to recruit and train Leaflets – a range of booklets produced as guides Email feedback on a regular basis Skype or similar sessions at pre-arranged times Website – a dedicated page for Champions On-going development In the future we foresee Champions taking on the wider roles within our Association. Social Media is a great way – through the new website, facebook and twitter etc the word is spread But the face-to-face is pretty much unbeatable in the local area Join us today and together we will fight CLL 6

Join us today and together we will fight CLL CHAMPIONS It’s our hope that eventually every clinic will have a CLL Champion who eventually will help our Association reach every CLL patient. I hope that over the coming months as we roll out this development through the Conferences, the web and other social media you may feel drawn in to help those in similar situations live better with CLL Now in your groups you are going to discuss the roles and hopefully some of you will sign up to become profile-raising champions Join us today and together we will fight CLL 7
