Estonian Perinatal Society Main current goals and challenges Home page: www.perinat.ee Contact address: info@perinat.ee Established in 1990 Joined UENPS in 2008 Current president: Pille Vaas - obstetrician Republic of Estonia Eesti Vabariik, 1918 1,3 million people 14 000 births/ year in 2014-17 ABOUT US Members Around 150 members: Obstetricians, midwives, geneticists, neonatal surgeons Neonatologists, paediatricians, child/ neonatal intensive care and anesthesiology doctors Neonatal and child intensive care nurses Previous activities Annual national conferences in perinatal care to share information and educate staff including family doctors Collaboration with governmental institutions and other professional organizations in the field of perinatal care creation of national guidelines - national guideline „Management of premature delivery, birth and premature newborn“ was launched in Jan.2017 participation in programs and health care boards as experts national guidelines follow-up auditing Main current goals and challenges The main challenges in the national perinatal medicine that the organization is working on: reorganization of perinatal care in the country in the situation of decreasing birth rate and concentration of deliveries into the capital and establishment of 3rd level perinatal centers an audit of very preterm deliveries and their outcomes implementing of changes in the Estonian Medical Birth Register to have an additional data sheet for preterm infants less than 34 gestational weeks from 2019
