Mathematics Minor 16-Credit Math Minor If you major in engineering, you’ll likely need just two or three more math courses in addition to what’s required for your major. If you’re a computer science major, you’ll generally need four math courses beyond what’s required for your major.

Energy Science, Technology & Policy Minor 15-Credit Minor for students in all majors to develop “green skills” in their chosen field Projects at NYIT include solar carports, plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEV), and the Long Island Carbon Footprint Project. Demonstration projects at partner institutions such as Stony Brook University and Farmingdale State College which focus on smart grid technology, building automation, solar energy, small scale wind power, geothermal heat pumps, green data centers, and alternative fuel vehicles.

Combined B.S. and M.S Options: Accelerated Path to Master's Degree (APDM): Five-Year B.S./M.S. Combined Options NYIT offers five-year combined degree options leading to a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in the following areas: Combined B.S. and M.S Options: B.S. in Computer Science M.S. in Computer Science M.S. in Information, Network and Computer Security B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering M.S. in Information, Network, and Computer Security B.S. in Information Technology B.S. in Mechanical Engineering M.S. in Mechanical Engineering

Accelerated Path to Master's Degree (APDM): Five-Year B. S. /M. S Accelerated Path to Master's Degree (APDM): Five-Year B.S./M.S. Combined Options Students must have a cumulative 3.2 GPA to qualify for the program. Juniors in good academic standing (Dean’s List) will be automatically considered for the program. Members of the Dean of Engineering Honors Program are guaranteed early acceptance into the APMD program. APMD-enrolled students are eligible to take 2 graduate-level courses in their senior year toward the master’s program of their choice within the Engineering school, at no cost to them (as long as the 3 credits fall within the 17-credit maximum allocation).
