Illegal dumping and littering Clogged drains and ditches may cause flooding. Working together we can reduce illegal dumping and have a cleaner, safer neighborhood and city. It makes cleaning work difficult and expensive. City of Brownsville Public Works City of Brownsville Public Works City of Brownsville Public Works

“Why is Illegal dumping and littering wrong? It pollutes our land, water and air. It makes your neighborhood ugly and dangerous. It might have sharp objects like glass or nails that can hurt you. What is illegal dumping and littering? Illegal dumping and littering is putting trash where it does not belong. It’s also against the law. When illegal dumpers are caught, they pay a large fine and may even go to jail. It attracts insects and rats which can spread disease. It can clog our storm drains and ditches. Even poisonous animals can join the gang.
