composition the arrangement of visual elements

rule of thirds the practice of dividing image into thirds both horizontally and vertically

balance equal presentation of visual elements

focus the point where fine details are most clearly visible

influences how close and far away objects appear depth influences how close and far away objects appear

lighting the illumination of the scene being photographed

Contrast (Jux) the range of difference between light and dark areas of an image

background the area behind the subject

foreground the visual plane that appears closest to the viewer

line an identifiable path of a point moving in space. It can vary in width, direction and length
