News Report (no more than 4 in a group) 1. Headline - Catches your attention 2. Placeline - Where the story begins 3. Lead - Gives most important information the (the 5W's) 4. Field report – interview questions or factual (Min 4 questions) 5. Wrap it – recap Students can dress up as interviewers and historical figures.(extra credit)

Tips 1. Research the topic and write notes on index cards. 2. Practice your presentation ahead of time. Speak loudly but do not yell. Speak slowly and clearly 3. Deliver your with confidence. Smile and make eye contact. Be sure to have inflection in your voice. Use hand motions to emphasize points 4. Make an conclusion, but don't stress too hard about it. 5. Do not turn your back on your audience

Rubric 1 Organization; Information is presented in a logical sequence, presentation is appropriate. 2. Content; Presentation contains accurate information 3. Introduction lays out the topic well, and establishes a framework for the rest of the presentation. 4 Presentation; Speaker uses a clear, audible voice. Information was well communicated; Length of presentation is within the assigned time limits (3 -4 min, props to presentation not distract)
