Music USA Festival November 30, 2018

The Night before (and Morning of) ~Students will be bringing home their “costume”. Please wash them that night for the next day. ~Students need to wear their costume to school in the morning with their red chorus shirt on top.

Do not wait for the bus to leave! May 4th….. The morning At school no later than 5:40am Parents MUST: Sign-in their child Put bracelets on correct people Verify that student ticket is in their bag Add money for the day if needed Put student baggie in the black fanny pack If parent is driving to Universal, they need to leave as soon as the above items have been done. Do not wait for the bus to leave!

Directions Take I-75 North Take EXIT 261 onto I-4 toward Orlando Take EXIT 75A toward FL-435 S/International Drive Turn LEFT onto Universal Blvd

Bus Ride 55 passenger bus, all seats are full. Feel free to carpool if you are not on the bus. Non-performers on the bus are: Clark, Bottenfield, Vazquez, Vazquez, Lovesky, McAskill, Henry, Fraser, Silverman, Hinck, Buckstein, Buckstein, Paige Movies- 2 movies will be played. If it is PG I will check with you first No food on the bus (bugs) Water with a lid is acceptable

Soundstage 33 This is where we will perform. Parents that drove themselves need to get there ASAP Check out this map to see where you will go Enter Here

NY Steps Performance Area

9:30 or sooner At approximately 9:00 we will enter the building and watch the group that performs before us. Everyone must sit quietly. No talking or moving around once they have begun or during their judging session. If you show up before 9:00 and you do not see us waiting outside, quietly go into the building. We will start no later than 9:30.

After performance Judge works with students Pictures are taken Students change (chorus shirt) Get everything off the bus that you need Not going back on bus? Take everything off Get into your groups, do not go through gate without entire group!!!! Have fun in both parks See you back at 3:15 !

Riding the rides No student should be forced on to a ride that he/she doesn’t feel comfortable going on. If a student does not want to go on a ride, a chaperon must stay and wait with that child while the rest of the group goes on it. Or everyone stand in line and when ready to get on, let the line worker know that you will wait on the other side for your kids to go. Hint for going through lines fast: Single rider line!!! Have a chaperon go in line first and last. The first one will collect the students at the end of the ride as they get off the ride. The last one makes sure they all get on the ride. This is the most efficient way to ride as many rides as possible.

Awards Ceremony Be back at the performance area no later than 3:15 All performers must be present Cheer on our group when they call our name Clap for all groups 2 5th grade students will be chosen by Mrs. B to go up a receive whatever trophy we earn. these 2 students will be chosen when we arrive at the award ceremony.

After Awards If you are taking your child with you and not returning on the bus with us, you MUST sign your child out with me. You will sign a paper so don’t just tell me you are leaving. Everyone can go enjoy the parks until 7:00pm when they close. Meet outside of Universal Studios at 7:15pm for a final picture with our trophy We will take our final count and walk to the bus Dinner

What students need to bring Boys: black sweat pants, Mrs. B black shirt, black socks and fully black shoes (with your red chorus shirt over it. Girls: Wear your all black (with red chorus shirt over it.) to school. Bring shorts and other shoes to change into after performance Sunscreen is always a good idea for face, neck and back of calves MONEY!! Approx $30-$40 is needed for food throughout the day Kid meals are available at most eateries for around $10 adult meals are around $15-$18 A snack of popcorn and a drink will be a good $10 I would plan on 2 snacks this year because we will not eat on the road until close to 8:00. You can bring lunch and snacks into the park in your bag but no coolers. Extra money for souveniers, chaperons will not stop your child from purchasing something unless they will not have $ left for food

Have Fun! Have fun and be supportive of our students. They have worked very hard and no matter what the outcome, they should be praised for what they accomplished so far this year. A missed word or dance move doesn’t matter if they tried their best and had a blast doing it.
