Truth about God's children

“I give you a new command: Love one another “I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34–35 CSB

We know that everyone who has been born of God does not sin, but the one who is born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. 1 John 5:18 CSB

If we say, “We have no sin,” we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8–9 CSB

God’s children will never abandon the truth.

But Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62 CSB

God’s children are protected by God.

Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you continue in my word, you really are my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31–32 CSB

God protects his children by giving them the knowledge of the truth.

I am not praying that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world... John 17:15–18 CSB

just as I am not of the world ...just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. John 17:15–18 CSB

God protects his children by holding them in his hand.

I give them eternal life, and they will never perish I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me... John 10:28–30 CSB

...is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10:28–30 CSB

God protects his children by providing a way out of overwhelming temptation.

No temptation has come upon you except what is common to humanity No temptation has come upon you except what is common to humanity. But God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able... 1 Corinthians 10:13 CSB

...but with the temptation he will also provide a way out so that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 CSB

The Litmus Tests Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God? Are you keeping God’s commands to love him and love people? Is the purpose of your life to accomplish God’s will? Do you love the people of God? Are you compassionate toward the needs of other believers?
