Poor Academic Performance in Class 705 J. Gregus

Academic performance of students in 705 Define the Problem Academic performance of students in 705

Gather the Evidence

Identify the Causes What are some causes for the low performance levels? Discuss some possible causes with your partner Here is what I think: Students are not doing their homework Students are not studying at home Students are distracted in class

Evaluate an Existing Policy What are we doing about it now? Turn to your partner and discuss some of the things your teacher requires you to do in order to be successful in class.

Develop Solutions What are some things that could work better than what we are doing now? For example: Create afterschool study groups with teacher supervision to help with homework. Form your groups and come up with at least three possible solutions as a group.

Select the Best Solution (Feasibility vs. Effectiveness)   HIGH MEDIUM LOW   What’s that now?

Select the Best Solution continued Place each solution in the right box. You can also access the chart here: http://flippedtips.com/plegal/tips/worksheet6.html

Now that you are done….. See if it works. Implement the solution you chose ( if you can) and let’s see whether your grades improve.
