What is it like? Bowles is a unique venue where young people can be inspired.  They will be challenged yet safe, and cared for whilst having the independence.

Staffing We will be spending all week together NEWCROFT (50 children) Mrs Hallam ( Group Lead) Mrs Atkinson Mr Davies Mrs Gamble ( First Aider) Mr Young Mrs Cook THORNTON (15 children) Mr Simpson Mrs Bickerstaff Mr Smythe

Travel Arrangements Journey of approximately 1.5- 2 hours Children leave cases/ bags outside and line up as usual. Any medication can be bought in after you have dropped your child off and handed over to Mrs Gamble Children will be registered/ toileted and counted in school ( Please wait outside whilst we do this) All medication should be clearly labelled and handed directly to Mrs Gamble ( Do not pack this!) The children will get on the bus at Thornton at 9.30 The bus leaves Thornton at 10.00 The children will get on the bus at Newcroft at 10.30 Bus leaves Newcroft at 10.45

Safety and security Site tour Fire safety- site complies with UK standards Site security- the site has a controlled barrier access for vehicles, CCTV and security staff patrols through the night. All staff and visitors wear ID badges. There is no access to the general public.

Meal times Need a packed lunch for first day (we cannot enter our accommodation until 2pm!) all packaging disposable (no smelly lunchboxes!) 3 meals a day Plenty of choice Canteen style Can cater for different diets Water bottle

Activities The children are put into activity groups of up to 12 children. Each group is assigned an instructor and a member of staff. Daily Timetable Breakfast - 7.00am to 9.00am SESSION 1 - 9.00am - 10.30am Break - 10.30am to 10.45am SESSION 2 – 10:45am - 12:15pm Lunch - 12.15pm to 2.00pm SESSION 3 - 2:00pm - 3:30pm Break - 3.30pm to 3.45pm SESSION 4 - 3.45pm to 5.15pm Dinner - 5.15pm to 7.15pm EVENING SESSION - 7.30pm to 8.45pm

What to pack Black bin bags

Other No mobile phones No electronic gaming equipment Spending money (in change) We recommend £10 in a named purse or wallet. Mrs Gamble is our Lead first aider and will be in charge of the administering of any medication- Please arrange to see her before the trip should you need to discuss this in any detail. Paracetamol ( Named bottle/ sachets ) Clearly mark all belongings with name and luggage with a label showing student name and school name. Your child must be able to carry their own luggage from the coach to the accommodation!
