Let me ask you two (stupid?) questions...

Question #1 Since you are probably going to work for about forty years, would you rather do something you enjoy doing or hate doing?

Question #2 Also, since you are probably going to work for about forty years, would you rather make a little money or a lot of money?

Something to think about…. If these are such dumb questions, why is it that there are so many people who complain that they hate their job and that they don’t make enough money?

Perhaps those people did not understand the basic concept of…

Instant Gratification vs. Delayed Gratification

A comparison of earnings potential: Non-skilled Worker vs A comparison of earnings potential: Non-skilled Worker vs. Technical or College 2-4 years (In future dollars, assuming a 3% raise each year)

Fact of Life Life contains STRUGGLE Having to do some things that you don’t like to do Not having enough money to support the lifestyle you would like to have

The good news is… You get to choose whether you are going to struggle for a short period of your life or a long period of your life!

PLEASURE STRUGGLE STRUGGLE PLEASURE

Since the 1950’s parents have been telling their children : “Most jobs in the future are going to require you to have a four year college degree”

FACTS About 60% of high school graduates go to college Only 26% of college students earn their degree within six years Only 50% of college students actually complete a four year degree

Generally, the more education you have, the less likely you are to be unemployed and more likely to earn more.

Deciding on a career seems like such a big decision Deciding on a career seems like such a big decision. What if I pick something I don’t like? The U.S. Dept. of Labor predicts that today’s students will have 5 – 7 career changes in their lifetime. Many of today’s students will have jobs that don’t exist today.
