Why use the Internet for English Teaching? A large wealth of resources for teachers and students, many of which are free Many possibilities: Students can read, write, communicate, and publish on the Internet By combining English and technology, can help students master the skills they need for academic and occupational success Many/most students are fond of technology Students can interact with native and non-native speakers

Some caveats Not all websites are equally good Not all English-language teaching materials are of good quality We must work within the realm of possibility Technology does not always work

Brainstorm Session In your groups, brainstorm ways in which you can use the Internet or Internet resources for your learners. These could be ways you have used the Internet in your classes or ways that you hope to use the Internet in classes.
