What is HIV and Aids? AIDS and HIV break down your immune system making it so you wont be able to fight off the disease.

What is a virus and how can it reproduce? A virus is a biological agent that reproduces by attaching itself to a host cell and injects its genetic material into the cell.

Where does HIV and AIDS come from? Aids and HIV came from non-human primates in Central and West Africa.

How is HIV and AIDS contracted? HIV and AIDS can be contracted by having unprotected sex or sharing needles with someone who has the virus.

Where was the first recorded cases in the world and in the US? The first recorded case worldwide was from a man in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The first recorded case in the US was from 5 very healthy gay men in San Francisco, California.

What are the symptoms? Some symptoms are feverish, achy, and sick. They usually only last for 2-3 weeks.

How long does it take to develop into AIDS? It can start to develop within months to years, most people start to get symptoms around 10 years.

How many people have died worldwide due to this? Approximately 35.4 million people have died due to HIV and AIDS

How many people are infected worldwide? Approximately 77.3 million people are living with HIV and Aids

How many people in the US have died due to this? Approximately 658,507 people have died in the US

What are some ways to avoid infection? Don’t do drugs or share needles with anyone and don’t have unprotected sex

What are some treatments and/or medicines that are showing results? Antiretroviral therapy is how some doctors help to treat HIV and AIDS

Conclusion In conclusion doctors have still not come up with a cure for HIV and Aids but have ways to treat it. Many have died due to this but also many still have it.
