Be supposed to = They say… Structure: be + supposed to + infinitive verb. It´s supposed to kill flies.
Be supposed to = “have to” or “should” Structure: be + supposed to + infinitive verb. You are supposed to start work at 7:25 every morning.
Be supposed to = What should happen. Structure: be + supposed to + infinitive verb. I´m supposed to be studying for an exam. (But they didn´t)
Be supposed to = What will happen. Structure: be + supposed to + infinitive verb. I´m not supposed to stay out late. (But maybe I will)
Was/were supposed to = what was expected didn´t or won´t happen. Structure: was/were + supposed to + infinitive verb. They were supposed to call me at 5:OO.
Was/were going to = similar meaning and also mean “intended to.” Structure: was/were + going to + infinitive verb. I was going to apply for a job. ( but I didn´t it)
