2017 Annual Report

BRHN’S 2017 FOOTPRINT From July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017, BRHN provided direct counseling to 164 families and/or individuals in the Northern Shenandoah Valley. Provided rental counseling to 114 clients. BRHN had 14 participants attend the homebuyer Educational Classes. The foreclosure prevention program provided counseling to 3 new clients. BRHN has created a homeownership program for residents at or below 80% of the area median income. The program is designed to make successful homeowners. In 2017, 28 clients received pre-purchase counseling and 9 families were able to purchase with the assistance of our down payment program. BRHN provided $126,308.00 in down payment and closing cost assistance made available through the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development and the Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission. BRHN provided $54,545.57 in tenant based rental assistance made available through the Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission and $1,033.33 from the United Way NSV.
