Strive for the impossible and be extraordinary! Welcome to Mrs. Novak’s class Arizona College Prep Erie Campus Strive for the impossible and be extraordinary!

First, we need to get acquainted… My name is Mrs. Novak… This is my 18th year of teaching. I taught in California for 2 years and this is my 16th year in Chandler. I taught 4th grade for 10 years and then decided to move up grade levels to teach History and Sign Language. My Bachelor’s degree is in Deaf Studies from CSUN. My Master’s is from ASU. I enjoy all kinds of music and my passion is theater. I love to travel, read books and watch movies. My husband and I are empty-nesters; both of our children attend college in the Pacific Northwest. We keep busy taking care of our two Yorkies.

What is Human Geography? Students will be introduced to the above seven topics as outlined by the College Board.

Why do we study Human Geography? Students will: understand the roles people play in making specific places unique see geographical context in which major issues occur learn to think geographically and critically about the world appreciate complexities of globalization become geographically literate to be better prepared to face challenges.

Course Description of AP Human Geography This is a college-level course designed to represent a systematic study of the earth. Much is expected of students in this course and there is an abundance of reading from both the textbook and other ancillary materials. College Credit: In addition to mastering the course content, each student should be prepared to pass the Advanced Placement examination in May. Students scoring well enough on the exam may receive college credit at the university level.
