Purpose To use a grid to accurately draw an animal of your choice. To show value (light- dark) through cross hatching or stippling. To abstract forms from life (to breakdown into simplified shapes). To use stippling or cross hatching to go from light to dark in order to create the illusion of 3D form (animal).

Criteria for Success The Student Will… Successfully complete a value scale in either stippling or cross hatching Accurately grid your picture & paper for your drawing. Successfully use the grid technique to accurately draw your animal. Apply value through cross hatching or stippling in the right places to create the illusion of a 3D form (animal). Use excellent craftsmanship throughout the entire picture.
