Fluid Systems

Consist of components used to transmit and control forces in a fluid Fluids Systems Consist of components used to transmit and control forces in a fluid

Fluid System Components Source of Energy Usually a pump(liquid) or compressor (gas) Transforms mechanical forces to fluid forces Fluid Using Pascal’s law, pressure on one part of a system is transferred to all other parts Control Device Usually a valve Actuator Transforms fluid forces to mechanical forces

Field Trip!!!

Advantages of Fluid Systems Pipes and hoses are flexible and can transfer forces to a variety of locations Large number and variety of valves gives a lot of control to the operator
