Recycling materials Learning Objectives: Explain what it is important to recycle and give examples of materials that can be recycled. Formulate a list of benefits and drawbacks associated with recycling Give an opinion as to whether or not recycling is beneficial and back this up using your own knowledge and attitudes.

Recycling materials Create a list of things that you can recycle? What are they made of? Where can you go to recycle?

Create a small written paragraph/bullet points explaining: What do you think about recycling? What are the benefits and drawbacks of recycling? I think that recycling is….. The benefits include….. The drawbacks include…. Use your own opinion to explain whether you think recycling is beneficial or not. I will ask few students to read out.

What is sustainability? Look at the statements below – what is sustainability?. Do you want the best for your future children and grandchildren? How will we be judged by future generations? Does it matter what effect our actions have on other people? Why should we be expected to make a sacrifice? How selfish shall we be?

Sustainability is ….. It is an environmental, economic and social issue. Many also feel it is a moral issue. It is important to sustain our ecosystems and biodiversity, but it is also important that people are able to sustain a good quality of life. A good quality of life means considering social and economic factors. Sustainability has a lot to do with compromise.
