Athletic Facility Improvements Project METHACTON SCHOOL DISTRICT Athletic Facility Improvements Project 28 February 2012

Field Overuse The average natural grass field can experience 55 events per year before significant deterioration of the athletic surface occurs. The seven athletic fields in the High School campus experience a total of approximately 1,110 events per year. This results in a campus average of 158.5 events per field, nearly three times the number of events regarded as the maximum number allowed for maintaining the turf. Based on field usage experienced on the athletic fields, the Methacton School District High School Campus is 13 fields deficient in being able to adequately accommodate the use experienced on the fields.
