Folsom High School Class: AP European History Grade: 10th Grade Description of Class: AP European History is a college-level course designed to prepare each student for the rigor of higher education & introduce the student to the complex political, social, intellectual, diplomatic, economic, and cultural developments of Europe during the period of the 1450’s to the present. Hours of Homework/Studying Per Week: 4 - 6 hours Prerequisites: “B” or higher in English + 3.0 overall GPA Summer Assignments: Yes – Reading and written portion, posted on School website Frequency & Style of Assessments: Weekly reading quizzes and at least one test per quarter Amount & Frequency of Written Work: Frequent written work, including SAQs, DBQs, and LEQs essays in class, at least 1 per week at times Number of Oral Presentations: approx. 1 every other week, individual and group presentations Amount of Reading Required: approx. a chapter from the TB per week on top of additional reading given in class. Reading schedule for TB given at beginning of the school year Large Projects: At least 1 individual project per semester, occasional group projects throughout
