Masking the Truth There are several characters in Romeo and Juliet that are presenting a façade to the world. They present an “outer” self that does not reveal their true “inner” self. Create a mask for one of the following characters: Romeo Juliet Friar Lawrence Nurse

Mask Instructions Outer Mask Side Inner Mask Side 2 symbols that represent a personality trait or characteristic that the character presents as a front to the world. Be mindful of your color choices—choose ones with specific symbolic value. 2 quotes (with Act/scene numbers) that support your inferences. 2 symbols that represent the character’s true self, the side they keep hidden from most people. Be mindful of your color choices—choose ones with specific symbolic value. 2 quotes (with Act/scene numbers) that support your inferences. Justifications: On the margins of BOTH sides of your mask, explain your symbolic choices. Why did you choose that object/symbol to represent your character trait? Explain the color symbolism of your mask. Also, why did you choose that specific mask design/shape?
