Democracy Assistants There will be Democracy Assistants around Campus from Tuesday to Friday to promote voting in the elections They are there to help you when you need, as are the Democracy Team

Rules & Regs Absolutely no campaigning of any form until 9am Tuesday Week 3 You are responsible for everyone helping with your campaign, if they break the rules you will be penalised Your actions must not violate the SU’s policies or governing documents Candidates cannot claim the support of a current or past SU Club or Society, exec member, or representative No negative campaigning No campaigning in study spaces You can find the rules and regulations in the Candidate Regulations, which have been handed out, and in the candidate guide. Please ensure you have read these.

Social Media No posting in groups that all candidates are not able to post in. This will be communicated to societies and clubs

Slates No slates allowed; candidates will naturally support one another and most likely will be friends with one another but explicitly standing on the same platform is prohibited.

Candidate Expenses NUS Delegate Candidates are allocated £15 in expenses. All other positions are allocated £10 in expenses. Keep receipts of everything you purchase for your campaign. All publicity must be printed via Warwick SU print If you are unsure ask, do not over spend!

Manifesto A Manifesto is the statement you write which explains to students: Who you are Your experience What you believe What you want to change Your ideas Why should they vote for you and what will you do if elected? Keep manifestos to one page where possible – students will be reading these In an exit poll ran in the Spring Elections last year, the top reason students gave for voting was that they had read the manifestos. Make sure you stand out.

Campaigning: Make It Count Keep it on point Keep it entertaining Keep it realistic Keep it simple Your main task is getting students to vote in the first place!

Where can I campaign? There will be a number of temporary display structures around campus based: Outside SUHQ/ Piazza Bus interchange End of Library Road Outside Zeeman building Gibbet Hill Outside Oculus Building Check the SU/University agreement for more information which will be circulated

Who are your voters? There are over 24,000 students at Warwick Over 30% are International Students Over 40% are Postgraduate Students

Spring Election Exit Poll

Complaints Sometimes candidates may break the rules - sometimes this is not on purpose, however there is no distinction – if you, or any of your campaign team, break the rules, we will take action. Deposit free election: Sanctions will no longer be a fine from your deposit. If you break the rules, it is likely you may receive a campaign ban for a period of time. You can report rule breaks to democracy@warwicksu.com Please do not go looking to catch other candidates out – focus on why you are the best candidate

Problems? The Adjudication Panel will meet daily to consider candidate complaints, implications and any penalties. Complaints should be sent to democracy@warwicksu.com Decisions from the panel will be published via email to all candidates – so please check your emails twice a day!
