Stoke ERCP Symposium The challenge Our approach Results In 2017 as part of our commitment to developing a long term educational platform, Aquilant worked with a major customer and leading UK clinical centre of excellence to deliver a specialist ERCP* symposium The concept was to showcase live patient cases from multiple centres of excellence, and to share best clinical practice from leading UK and international centres To attract paying delegates facing increasingly limited study leave opportunities, the event had to stand out as a highly valued scientific meeting that was also relevant to delegates day to day practice Leveraging our network of UK key opinion leaders we identified other expert centres to partner with to build the event In addition to two leading UK centres, we also linked with an expert centre in Hyderabad, India. The clinical lead, an internationally recognised expert flew to the UK to join the meeting as a co-course director We gained endorsement from the British Society of Gastroenterology as well as various other clinical bodies Marketing the event through our field based sales and clinical teams, as well as via electronic and social media platforms While creating a scientific and educational event, there was a significant opportunity to promote the Fujifilm range of endoscopic equipment used during the live case sessions 120 delegates attended the symposium An income of £23k was generated from registration fees and industry sponsorship 99% of delegates confirmed that they would attend the meeting again, and recommend it to a colleague Aquilant’s relationship with one of their most strategically important customers was developed and strengthened. Significant other new business opportunities were identified Aquilant’s brand and reputation have been enhanced with both customers, and Fujifilm The next symposium is now being planned for September 2018, with the addition of an Italian centre of excellence *Endoscopic Retrogade Cholangio-Pancreatography
