What is AP Seminar? QUEST Crafting well reasoned, evidence-based arguments. Exploring topics and problems from different perspectives or points of view. Learning to effectively communicate with an audience, with a clear purpose and occasion. This class is not a content-driven course. It’s a skills-driven course. We are going to use the topics of Consumerism and Labor to learn and hone these skills this year.  What is AP Seminar?

How is your letter grade determined? AP Seminar will use a Proficiency-Based Grading System; that is, the grade for the class will be derived from formative and summative assessments that are: (1) connected to clearly defined learning objectives, (2) based on academic achievement (not behavior or compliance with school/classroom rules), and (3) focused on learning progress. Grading Categories: Participation: part of formative assessment category in the gradebook, it is based on how your work, preparation, comments, ideas, and questions helps to enhance and/or advance our overall collective understanding through critical discussion and listening. Formative Assessments (40 % of final grade for course): Summative Assessments (40% of final grade for course) Kentucky English 2 End-of-Course Exam (20% of final grade for course) How is your letter grade determined?

How is your AP Seminar Score determined? Task 1: Team Project and Presentation – 20% Task 2: Individual Research-Based Essay and Presentation – 35% End-of-Course Exam Part A and B – 45% How is your AP Seminar Score determined?
