Warm up The cultural background about the education system in Britain: Primary education (age 5-11) Secondary education (age 11-19) The Education System Higher education / Tertiary education (age 16- )

Compulsory Education Secondary Schools Primary Schools ( state sector primary schools ) Compulsory Education Comprehensive Schools (90%) ( The curriculums include academic subjects, such as literature, science, and practical subjects, such as cooking, carpentry.) Secondary Schools Grammar Schools ( The students must pass the examination called “11-plus”. And the emphasis on the teaching is on advanced academic work. However, they are becoming rare nowadays.)

Please describe a school where you’ve studied there before or you work there now as a teacher. And you can discuss with your neighbor or group members, please pay attention to the vocabulary. Some students will be expected to make performances after the discussion. Purpose: Through doing the task in this part, you must be able to describe a campus with giving the names of main components in a school.
