Each member will research different aspects of the issue Part 2: Drawing Each member will decide on a species that is directly affected by this issue- you will also research how it is affected etc. Each member will draw their species Part 3.: Presentation The group will create an information board informing the public about this issue using research write ups and their drawings of their species to draw the viewer into the project. Part 4: write up Each member will write up a summary of the project and information on their species.

Part 1: Research After deciding on an issue and who is in your group: (2-3 groups per category and 2 -3 people in each subcategory) Decide who will research what about the specific issue Brainstorm ideas on species that best represent this issue and are directly affected by it. Each person in the group will choose a different species Do research on the causes and affects of this issue. Each person in the group needs to contribute to the research of the issue. Each person in the group needs to choose an animal and research how it is affected by this issue, natural history as it relates to issue etc Finally offer the viewer tips on what they can do in their everyday lives to help solve this issue, organizations that are working on this issue and people who are raising awareness about the issue..

Part 2: Drawing Research and search for images to draw from: Look for images of the species – close up views of head Keep open to microscopic species, plants etc. Be sure it is a photograph not a drawing or painting It is a clear image and focusing on the head of the animal Keep your sketchbook next to you while at the computer researching take notes on: animals natural history, how it is affected by issue, status Use any images you may see to sketch out some ‘thumbnail sketches.’  Be sure to document the sites you visit. Drawing: After finding an image to draw from, beginning some planning sketches Decide what materials you will use to create the image How you can create a dynamic drawing that will intrigue the viewer. Materials: Charcoal – black and white Pastel – color use black or white paper Could combine above with pen and ink
