NAF Duball DL Pocket Valve - Overview What is the technology and what does it do? Application based version of Duball DL high performance metal seated ball valve Discharges solids out of process while maintaining full process pressure Adds safety and prevents accidental through-flow which is a risk in traditional junk/sand traps The valve is typically automated using an actuator with a stroke set to 140 degrees

NAF Duball DL Pocket Valve – Typical Applications Where is it typically used? Primarily in the Pulp and Paper Industry. Typical applications include: Cyclone sand/junk separator (image) Reject lines on filters Junk traps in a repulper Replacement of conventional multivalve junk/sand traps in any application

NAF Duball DL Pocket Ball design Based on NAF Duball DL > Building on more than 80 years of ball valve experience in harsh environments Specially designed “pocket” ball > Removing solids from process while maintaining full process pressure and minimized loss of process medium Sealed and locked seats> Prevent extensive wear caused by medium build-up behind the seats Pocket ball constructed in Solid Alloy 6> Prevents extensive wear and gives unmatched long service life Spring loaded stem seal packing > Minimized risk for non-planned plant downtime and emissions to atmosphere Ports for flushing> Effectively flush both the body and the ball cavity during the discharge sequence Blowout-proof stem supported by a wear resistant anti-friction washer in Alloy 6> Provides a wear resistant, high torque transmission

Safety Is Our Top Priority A traditional 2-valve based sand/junk trap: Several thousand cubic meters of hot fluid can flow out from the pipe if both of the valves are accidentally left open at the same time. The Duball DL Pocket Valve: Will not allow any significant through-flow in any position. This makes it inherently less sensitive to malfunctioning than a traditional multi-valve sand/junk trap.
