Presentation transcript:

Project # 8 - Internet of Hospital Things (IoHT): Communicating to Facilitate Healing REU student: Stefanie Mutter Graduate mentors: Myungho Lee, Kangsoo Kim Faculty mentor(s): Dr. Gerd Bruder, Dr. Greg Welch Week 5 (June 11 – June 15, 2018) Accomplishments: Determined a final version of virtual agent appearances Met with Dr. Bruder to finalize study protocol Problem & Solutions: Adobe Fuse doesn’t launch reliably, so every time I try to open a project I have to uninstall/reinstall the application, sometimes more than once Importing Mixamo characters into Unity is more complicated than anticipated – the textures are set as transparent, so the characters end up looking strange. Solution: manually change all of the textures on each character upon import LipSyncPro, the app within Unity that I’m using to manipulate the avatar’s facial blendshapes so it looks like they’re talking, doesn’t seem to make the mouth move enough I was unable to get in contact with someone from UCF Nursing to borrow a hospital bed Gender neutral voices aren’t very common Plans for next week: Investigate third-party scripts to automatically adjust textures when importing a character from Mixamo into Unity Continue working with LipSyncPro to manually adjust blendshapes to make character talk Hopefully borrow hospital bed NSF REU Research Experience on Internet of Things 2018
