Emissions from German Agriculture Ulrich Dämmgen Federal Agricultural Research Centre Institute of Agroecology Braunschweig, Germany Brussels 1

Dämmgen Emissions from German Agriculture The German Agricultural Emission Inventory was compiled using the recent versions EMEP/CORINAIR Atmospheric Emission Inventory Guidebook Brussels 1

Dämmgen Emissions from German Agriculture The inventory deals with (direct and indirect) emissions of • NH3, N2O, NO and N2 • CH4, NMVOC (C and S species), pesticides, CO2 from liming from • plant/soil systems • enteric fermentation • manure management Brussels 2

Dämmgen Emissions from German Agriculture Brussels 3

Dämmgen Emissions from German Agriculture Brussels 7

Dämmgen Emissions from German Agriculture Problem The political information available at present does not allow to quantify any future reductions (or increases) of German agricultural emissions. That means Future emissions have to be extrapolated from past emissions using the current trend. The base line scenario should assume no significant changes from the present situation. Brussels 8
