Production of these products will cease after this date. The new motors with DIN connectors provide functionality identical to the original motors with bayonet style connectors Refurbishment services are planned, pending availability of component parts, for 7 years following the Silver Date. This document summarizes the steps needed for customers to support their installed base of motors with bayonet connectors.

Ensure that this will not result in interferences in the machine. –MPL-x4520x-… servo motors have not been released with DIN connectors due to low demand. The axis should be resized with a MPL-x4530x- or MPL-x430x- motor. –Power cable size: some recommendations have changed. Notify: –Your customers of this change for their support planning –Your service department of this change for their planning

All rights reserved. 7 Supporting Motors on your Machine - You Buy New DIN Motors and Cables When you need to replace a motor, purchase motors and cables with the new DIN connectors –Easy; the connector digit in the catalog numbers changes from a 2 to a 7 Example: MPL-A330P-SJ22AA becomes MPL-A330P-SJ72AA –DIN cables are used with these motorsbayonet cables are not compatible Verify: –Dimensions: In some cases, they may have increased slightly from the original versions. Ensure that this will not result in interferences in the machine. –MPL-x4520x-… servo motors have not been released with DIN connectors due to low sales. The axis should be resized with a MPL-x4530x- or MPL-x430x- motor. –Power cable size: some recommendations have changed. This action is only needed when a motor needs to be replaced ! Silver Series announcements are not a call to upgrade your machine.

All rights reserved. 8 Supporting Motors on Your Machine - Alternate Methods Rockwell Automation recognizes that in the future: –Exact motor replacements may not be available –Repair services may not be feasible in some circumstances –Pulling new cables through your machine may not be practical Rockwell Automation has released special products to maximize the uptime on your machine Use equivalent new DIN MPL motors with Transition Cables –These 0.5m cables bridge from the installed cables to the new DIN motor –Offer fast replacement with the current MPL motor line –IP66 rated and part of the EMC Declaration of Conformity (DoC) Purchase and Install DIN Connector Kits –This requires a skilled operator and special tools –Fitting the connector kits can be challenging and time consuming –Not an option for motors fitted with holding brakes
