Quality Assurance & Improvement Team QAIT

The Team

What are our Objectives? To improve the quality of life for residents living in Torbay care homes To support care homes to improve the quality of care for their residents. Maintain links and ensure good working relations with care homes. To monitor and audit quality standards for care homes and highlight concerns/good practice.

Who do we work with? Care home owners, managers, staff, residents and their families. Health and social care front line staff/teams. Review and Reassessment Team. Specialist professionals/departments. CQC. Commissioners. Healthwatch. Other Local Authorities. CCG (Yellow card).

What do we do? Monitor and follow up concerns. Carry out audits/follow up results. Signpost/advice/guidance. Attend safeguarding meetings. Heavy involvement in provider of concern process. Help implement and monitor service improvement plans. Training/education. Practical visits. Monthly quality report. Maintain Care Home Resource and Information Site (CHRIS).
