Jesus fed 5,000 Some wanted to make Him king – John 6:14,15 Jesus left because of people’s wrong motivation – John 6:26 Should have been spiritual – John 6:27 Not to avoid labor – 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 Implies gaining eternal life – John 6:28,29

Not everyone’s faith gained them eternal life Some heard and believed in Him – John 8:28-32 Some wanted Him dead – John 8:36,37 Some believed but would not admit it – John 12:42,43 Some feared the consequence of that belief – John 12:44-50

It was more than believing in jesus Jesus was teaching God’s words – John 14:15 Not simply naming Jesus, but obeying – Matthew 7:21 James said faith without works is dead- James 2:14-17 By believing & obeying we do not believe in vain – 1 Corinthians 15:1,2

Jesus is the bread of life John 6:47-51 “I am the living bread” His teachings were amazing – Matthew 7:28,29 Just as He Himself was fed – John 4:32 Spiritual food – obeying God – John 4:34 He invites us to share the harvest- John 4:35,36 Not merely listening – James 1:22 Doing what He says – John 8:51 The answer to eternal life – John 6:63

Jesus showed proof in the miracles he performed Works bore witness – John 5:36 Some focused solely on the result – John 6:26 Some didn’t like where it led – John 5:37-40 Should have been impressed regardless of consequences – John 10:37,38 Consider the consequence – John 10:39 Believe on account of works – John 14:10,11 Some did get the message – John 3:2

There is no other way but jesus John 14:6 “I am the way….” Salvation in no one else – Acts 4:10-12 "let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. 11 "This is the 'stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.' 12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
