Professional development is underpinned by robust evidence and expertise. Professional development enables opportunities for effective collaboration. Professional development will lead to sustained improvements over time. Any short-term impact on workload of engaging in the professional development will be outweighed by the long-term impact.

Progression in Reasoning Discuss on your tables: What is the quality of the reasoning taking place in your school? How do you ensure there a variety of reasoning style questions posed? How do you scaffold reasoning, particularly for the lower attaining pupils? Do pupils use diagrams to explain reasoning? Is this promoted? Are there any fantastic reasoning resources you would recommend?

Quality Assurance After each session (or at the end of a series of sessions if more appropriate) all participants will be asked to complete an evaluation form which will assess whether the standard has been met (see questions below). The evaluations will be reviewed by the MTSA to confirm that the CPD standard has been met and continuously improve the CPD provided.
