Breakout Roles Group Manager: Last alphabetically with respect to first name Purpose: To assign duties that are listed below - 1 per student Keep team focused on understanding and carrying out the group’s work by making sure all jobs are being done. “Check-in” with individual group members to make all are in agreement about the “final answer.” /

Other Roles & Purpose 1.) Reader: Provide verbal instructions by reading directions as well as other needed information out-loud. Supply supportive comments & positive feedback. 2.) Reviser: Write a 1 sentence statement &/or identify a key phrase to summarize all of the information that has been provided by individual group members. As a whole, the group will need to be in agreement about this summary statement/phrase because it will be considered your group’s “final answer.”

Other Roles & Purpose 3.) Recorder: Use whiteboard tools to record your group’s “final answer” with respect to requested information. 4.) Time Manager: Come up with time schedule to ensure task completion and give time left alerts. 5.) Cheerleader: Share end result of your group’s work once the session concludes & everyone has returned to the main meeting room. Provide encouragement and positive recognition of other group member contributions.

Translate it – determine corresponding amino acid based on either: a.) Consider 3 base sequence as mRNA sequence (for all that lack T, there should be a cooresponding mRNA codon sequence) b.) Consider 3 base sequence as part of DNA and have students transcribe and then translate to determine corresponding amino acid
