Goals Focus point for eContent providers and users, SMEs, business branches new to L10N and academia Web portal will provide reliable information on good practice for eContent development and L10N easy access to know-how and technology guidelines on linguistic and cultural customisation enhance visibility and recognition of this industry in Europe and world-wide

Components 4 Executive Briefings (2003) in Germany, Greece, Czech Republic, Spain 2 Foundation Courses held in four countries (2003) Development of Global Web Sites (I18N) L10N of eContent including cross-cultural aspects 2 Expert Workshops to get input and advice from the Expert Council (in conjunction with the conferences) 2 Localisation Europe Conferences 2002 and 2003)

Technology Web portal LOTS Linux server coded in Perl and HTML Windows 2000 server 10 Windows 2000 clients VMware for OS emulation Ghost images for fast restoration after testing Separate firewall to the internet Remote access being evaluated

Procedures LOTS Access via the server allows you emulate any of the main OS on the PCs linked to it … … run any of the installed localisation tools on the selected OS … … test their suitability for your requirements … … and above all, evaluate new tools available. Use them with “real” sample files provided by the industry in various formats, or use your own samples to get real results. Remote access will save valuable resources and allow for fast evaluations BIG THANKS to all supporting companies!
