Outcome 1: Social/Emotional Child Outcomes Data 2008-2009 Mean Percentage Maryland’s COSF data is much closer to the Part C National Data than Maryland’s PLOD data for most categories. Note that this is especially apparent in the “d” and “e” categories. The PLOD data may be affected by a lack of valid tools that measure social/emotional skills at young ages. Maryland’s Next Steps for Child Outcomes Summary (COS) Implementation Integrate the three early childhood outcomes/COS framework throughout the IFSP process to improve child, family, and programmatic results. Statewide full implementation October 1, 2011; however, the new IFSP Part III “Strengths & Needs Summary” will be available on July 15, 2011 via the Online IFSP (including the Offline version). Integrate Child Outcomes Summary (COS) into the IFSP Outcomes Wizard as a component of the web-based IFSP. Utilize available COS reports generated through the web-based IFSP for decision-making at individual child/family, local and State level (Fall 2011 release). Require local implementation of COS Training of Trainers model (CSPD plan in CLIG). Conduct an assessment/evaluation local survey to determine future Statewide professional development needs.
