Text Dependent Analysis Essay is: 4-5 Paragraphs Answers the question and provides your own personal words AND words directly from the story (EVIDENCE) to prove your answer
Text Evidence Words from the text that back up the main point you are making in your writing or providing a clear example.
Supporting Claims You must use your own words in your essay to explain your point. You cannot just use the words from the story.
Well Organized, Structured Essay… What does that mean? INTRODUCTION: Answers the question, Explains what you will write about. Does not say, “I am going to write about…” BODY PARAGRAPHS: Support your answer with your own words, and examples from the text (text evidence). CONCLUSION: The text was IMPORTANT and your ANSWER WAS IMPORTANT, why? How can you tie it all together to MEAN SOMETHING?
