Babysitting Are you fit for the job?

Things to ask before accepting a job: Number and ages of kids Names of children/gender Time and date needed How long will you be needed The rate of pay you’ll receive Special needs of kids/parents (Example: allergies, special activities, etc.)

Arriving on the Job Ask to arrive early to review expectations and to become familiar with kids and home Collect emergency numbers Parents, other relative/neighbor, doctor, address of home, 911

Continued Locate first aid supplies Locate toys, diapers, snacks/food, clothes Learn and record child’s routine for eating, sleeping, and playing Discuss family rules, i.e. TV, friends, snacks, discipline

Get Asked Back! Play with the kids! Take accurate phone messages, if told. Leave the house as neat (or neater) as you found it. Do not use the time for personal things (phone calls, friends, homework, etc.) Enforce the house rules.
