Overview of the deanery Two organisations responsible for your employment and training: Employment: The NHS Trusts are the employers for all Trainees Training: The Deanery is responsible for the delivery and quality of training Consultants within the NHS Trusts ensure the provision of Training and work with the Deanery

What this means… The Trust where you are working is your employer (if you are on the South rotation you are under the Lead Employer contract and Sheffield Children’s Hospital will employ you for the whole of your training period and deal with all of the below) Contracts of Employment Pay: Pay Scales, Pay Points, determining Pay Bands, SMP, SPP, SSP Leave: Annual Leave, Sick Leave, Maternity Leave, Paternity Leave, Compassionate Leave BUT NOT Unpaid Leave or Sabbaticals

What this means… The Deanery is responsible for your Training and will deal with: Rotations Assessments Tracking Placements and Training Progress: CCT Date Inter-deanery Transfers Unpaid Leave or Sabbaticals: OOPE/C/T/R Less than Full Time Training Completion of Training
